The Cherry Blossoms were in Bloom in DC, plus NAF
I arrive in Washington D.C. one day after “peak” cherry blossom day. My timing was magnificent. This was a tree across the street from my hotel, a few blocks north of the White House. All winter I had heard from colleagues and sources about how bad the winter was. Maybe it was, but April 11th was a beautiful early spring day. I had a great talk at the Smithsonian, rolling out my new talk for 100+ people. Very nice meeting everyone afterwards for the book signing. Then drinks with some fellow writers, some sleep, an early morning call to tape a segment with Luke Russert on MSNBC (running soon?) and finally a chat at the New America Foundation. I was warned that a session on Friday afternoon before spring break might be threadbare. So thanks to the people who came out and filled the room!
Here is a video of the session. Thanks to Steve Levine for hosting.
